Sleep
I love that she has learned to sooth herself with her hands lately. It has really made bedtime so much easier. Finding the right bedtime routine is was made bedtime such a success for us. She gets a bath every other evening around 9pm, then she puts her pj's on. She gets her last feeding of the night around 10pm or so then we read a lovely story (lately it's been Ferdinand!! thank you Megan & Temo) we lay her in her pack n play and give her binky. She is usually out by 11pm and sleeps until wake up time at 5:30am. I am so thankful she finally dropped the 3am feeding and I don't mind getting up super early as long as get to take our afternoon nap together. :)
Eating
Makenzie still loves to eat! She eats about every 3-4 hours, sometimes more often if she's really hungry. I am getting a little excited about learning how to make baby food as that time will quickly be upon us. Until then it's just breastmilk for this little one.
New skills
thumb sucking
'grabbing' her dumbo binky as you bring it close to her mouth
swatting/batting at her hanging toys
She still has a long way to go as far as her coordination goes but she stares intensely at objects and every now and then she makes contact and of course we give a cheer. She still has no idea that she is in fact the one who is making the monkey move, or the toy rattle when it is hit. We are still waiting for that "ah ha" moment for her. I am also working on learning baby signs so that I can begin to do them with her.
Diapers
We are officially 100% cloth now!!! The only time we use disposable is if I am going to be out for a long time with limited space for storing dirty nappies, ie: the USA Women's National Team soccer game... Ross is totally on board and I have figured out the perfect washing routine. No, it isn't as bad as it sounds. Also, we only ever had blowouts with disposables (yes, the poopy ones that go all the way up the back nasty ones). But we have yet to have that with our cloth ones. Knock on wood... ;)
